I'm co-founder of the group and I am proud to announce our very 1st contest! The theme of the contest is going to be a lucid dream. This means your deviation will have to be about a dream that you felt was so real it was as if you were actually living it.

Guidelines: Must be a piece of prose or poetry or short story.
Must be a new piece of writing that is submitted from now on (May 15th, 2011) forward.
It has to be fiction. Can't be an actual dream you had.
Only one entry per person.
Must be a member of the group to participate.
No length on limit but please don't go overboard as I will be the primary judge and I don't want to have to spend weeks reading all of the entries.
Can be any genre. i.e. romance, narrative, sci-fi, dark, etc...

Deadline: Deadline has been updated to July 7, 2011 by 12 EST.

Submit them to the contest folder that I will create and put the group's icon in the artist's comments as well as that it's for our contest.

Prizes: (subject to change as more become available)

hair spilling tangled over my shoulders,

I Failed Biology Oncei.
I'm like a pebble being skipped across the water, a small child having a brush with the unreal. My sanity is as transparent as these words that no longer make sense and I fear I'm going to lose my balance and fall off this tightrope soon. My only hope is the jaws of a lion aren't waiting below because I've yet to tame death and I can feel it consuming my shadow and prickling my skin with goose bumps.

Turning PagesWhen Izzy hopped onto the concrete wall to join Luna, she expected at least a hello from her friend, although obviously that wasn't the case. The concentration set on Luna's face was a sign not to disturb her but also an opportunity to ask what topic the book she was reading that interested her. Curiosity was second nature to Izzy, and she made no hesitation to follow her gut instinct.

"Whatcha reading?" she said, adding emphasis on the 'reading' part.

Evening watched with a smile as her hostage gawked at a small band of passing mages. Not just the mages, Evening corrected herself. Lola's very being seemed to radiate awe at every detail her gaze fell upon, no matter how mundane it seemed to Evening. The people, the animals, the buildings— even the sky itself seemed to interest her; every few minutes she'd glance up at the perpetual cloud with an almost triumphant smirk painted on her lips. The girl was so dazzled, in fact, that Evening had to constantly prevent her from stumbling into things or getting trampled by the bustling crowd. "You're not from ar02. Skinny Girl Skinny girl. Hip bones like mountains, lying on my back, hip bones rising like the Rocky Mountains, sharp and hollow as sin. scars like passes threading over the ridges. Skinny girl.
Skinny girl. Ribs like piano keys, backbone like a ladder, twisting in the mirror to see if prominant shoulder blades have sprouted feathers yet. Elbows and ankles and knees bending and creaking and knuckles clattering. Wonder if a witch doctor could tell the future if they spilled on the floor.

Words on A CanvasHe's not letting a moment go without notice and he's learning to trust his self, rather than living his life based on how everyone else thinks he should. She showed him how to be free and he's been living on a whim ever since. He even claims that one day he will take to the sky and conquer that which is flight, but until then he's perfectly fine walking the streets hand in hand with her.

She's stubborn as can be and so is he but for some reason it works and why try and fix something that was never broken in the first place? She has this smile that whispers to him that no matter how bad things may get, everything will be fine. There's always Words on A Canvas by ~NOTHINandEVERYTHING

Dreams of the ForsakenShe walks the lonesome, forlorn path through the grim graveyard of her mind, humming a lament to each shattered dream and every fallen hope now decomposing beneath their worn stone markers. It is a vile, desolate place that threatens to shred her sanity with its cruel reminder of how little hope remains for her soul. Yet night after night she returns, pulled into the ephemeral dream realm either by the hand of some vengeful god or by her own masochistic tendencies; she can't be sure which. Carter Gave Me SightCarter –He's 3 years old and turns 4 in February. He recently started complaining about poor vision and pain in his right eye. He told his mom, "Mommy, Scooby-Doo is all blurry. Why is he all blurry?"

His mom figured the television wasn't working properly or maybe it wasn't in high-definition but there didn't seem to be a problem at all; except her son was losing his eye-sight and she was losing faith and they were both losing time. She quickly wiped away her tears with the ends of her sleeves and told Carter, "He's blurry because he doesn't feel well today, baby. He just needs some rest and then he will be ok.
